Gestalt counselling is a humanistic therapy recognising an individual's strengths and creativity. By focusing on the 'here and now' experience of the present moment, a freedom from running on 'auto-pilot' can be achieved, allowing something new to be experienced. The aim is to create a non-judgemental self-awareness by focusing on the process of what happens between us.
This is how clients have experienced it:
I felt relief at being listened to and understood. My friends couldnt really understand the complexity of my situation and it had been a bit of a solitary journey until speaking with Clare.
She hit the nail on the head with the issues I was dealing with and gave direction for me to face these. She made me feel less of a failure.
I was feeling quite lost. I am a better version of myself thanks to her understanding, presence, warmth and knowledge.
